The annual winter attraction Seoul Plaza Skating Rink within the capital has been reopened for the first time in three years.
The particular Seoul Metropolitan Government on Dec. 21 said the rink will run for 54 days through Feb. 12.
Opening hours are from 10 a. m. to 9: 30 p. m. weekdays and 10 a. m. to 11 p. m. weekends and on holidays.
The cost is KRW 1, 000 per hour including skate rental. The use of safety equipment such as helmets and kneepads is free.
Online reservations can be made on Seoul Plaza’s official website ( www.seoulskate.co.kr ).
In a ceremony that day at 6 p. m. with regard to reopening the rink at Seoul Plaza, Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon said, “Seoul Plaza Skating Rink, visited by 130, 000 people, has been reopened this year by expanding the children’s rink and doubling the number of safety personnel, ” adding, “I hope that people can enjoy winter sports more comfortably and safely. ”
The rink’s reopening comes amid this year’s substantial lifting of social distancing measures and return to normal life from COVID-19, with the facility’s last day of operation before its pandemic-induced shutdown being Jan. 31, 2020.
